4 Ways To Combat Mold

8/22/2018 (Permalink)

Mildew is a white or black substance that you can find growing in the bathrooms. It thrives in warm and humid places.

Eliminate The Moisture

Mildew is a white or black substance that you can find growing on in the bathroom, usually on grout. It thrives in warm and humid places, so an important step to take is to make sure you keep all areas dry and clean in your bathroom. By stretching out and opening shower curtains and keeping on top of the cleaning in your bathroom you can prevent the growth of mildew drastically.

Use Cleaning Products

There are many cleaning easy and affordable products to use when it comes to cleaning your bathroom. One of those products is bleach, and this product can be extremely effective towards combating mold. Mixing 1 cup of bleach with 1 gallon of water, then using it in either a spray bottle or a bucket and sponge to clean the affected area will greatly help you clean any mildew. To avoid mildew growth don't wipe the clean area once you're done cleaning it. Of course bleach is not the perfect go to product, it cannot be used on porous materials and furniture like wood. Bleach is an intense cleaning product with harsh fumes and mixing it with ammonia or other cleaners can be extremely dangerous and toxic.

Remove Large Infestations

Mold is known to grow behind walls and unseen places in a house, leaving homeowners clueless until they smell odors or notice stains and discoloring on their walls. If that becomes the case, the mold will have to literally be cut out of drywall carpets.
